The 44 mile Test Way runs from Inkpen Beacon to the Eling Tide Mill near Southampton Water. The River Test is one of only 200 chalk streams in the world. The sparkling quality of its water has been famously described as 'gin clear'. The Test is renowned for the variety of the landscapes through which it flows; gently sloping tree-clad hills, occasional remnants of chalk grassland or former water meadows all set against the backdrop of fascinating history and geology.
