The Viking Way is a storied long-distance trail that winds 147 miles through the heart of the ancient Danelaw, stretching from the banks of the River Humber to the historic town of Oakham. Named in honor of the Norse invaders who once occupied this region in the 9th century, the route traverses a landscape rich with Viking heritage—from "thorpes" and "bys" to the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds. It offers a diverse journey through deep-green valleys, quiet market towns, and along the limestone escarpments of the Lincoln Cliff.

A true highlight of the path is the dramatic approach to Lincoln, where hikers are treated to the sight of the majestic cathedral towering over the city's hilltop. Whether crossing the expansive Humber Bridge at the start or finishing by signing the "Book of Fame" at Rutland Water, the trail is a pilgrimage through the hidden gems of eastern England. This patch celebrates the grit and history of a journey through the wild wolds and the ancient footsteps of the Vikings.

This easy to apply iron-on patch is made from yarn made from old plastic water bottles, so is made from yarn made from 100% post-consumer waste. A sturdy patch that you can apply to your walking clothing, kit or onto blankets or material to display your achievements.

The badge measures 53mm x 71mm
