£ 16.95

This guide by Rudolf Abraham describes the 97 miles (156km) of St Oswald's Way through Northumberland from Heavenfield near Hadrian's Wall to Holy Island (Lindisfarne).

The 71.5 miles (115km) of the Northumberland Coast Path from Cresswell to Berwick-upon-Tweed takes in the whole of the Northumberland Coast AONB with its breathtaking coastal scenery and birdlife.

St Oswald's Way takes in rolling farmland, Hadrian's Wall, the Simonside Hills and the beautiful Coquet Valley before reaching the vast sandy beaches of the coast and Lindisfarne. At 97 miles it can be easily walked in a week.

In addition to extracts of the Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale mapping, the guidebook is crammed with interesting snippets of information, alongside indispensable practical details of transport and accommodation in the area. With varied scenery and a rich history encompassing spectacular castles, medieval abbeys and Roman remains, this is one of Britain's most beautiful corners to explore on foot.
