London to Walsingham Camino - The Pilgrimage Guide
This new guide to one of the oldest Pilgrimage Routes in Britain is a fabulous, practical and beautiful book.
Before Henry V111 outlawed pilgrimage in 1538 the route from London to the shrine at Walsingham in Norfolk was the most popular pilgrimage in England. This guide, published in 2022, follows a newly resurrected route. The route is divided into 13 easy to moderately challenging stages. It is a truly uplifting walking experience, following footpaths and quiet lanes across the glorious east of England.
The route has been recognised by the Confraternity of St James - the organisation behind the Camino de Santiago in Spain. This means that any pilgrim walking at least 25km of the London to Walsingham Camino can count that towards the 100km that must be walked to get the official credencial on reaching Santiago.
The 13 stages of the London to Walsingham Camino can be downloaded and are available as gpx files, as well as being described in the book.
